Franklin Templeton appoints Matthew Jackson as Senior Director of Institutional Business

SYDNEY - Franklin Templeton Australia has announced the appointment of Matthew Jackson to the newly-created role of Senior Director of Institutional Business, as the company continues to build out its capabilities in the Australian institutional funds segment. Mr. Jackson joins Franklin Templeton from funds management and advisory firm Shed Enterprises, where he was Head of Distribution for Australia and New Zealand. 

Reporting to the Head of Institutional and Alternatives, Felicity Walsh, and based in Sydney, Mr. Jackson will be responsible for managing and building the firm’s relationships with institutional investors across the firm’s extensive range of investment capabilities in local and global fixed income and equity and alternatives strategies. 

Mr. Jackson brings over 20 years of extensive experience in investment management, banking and financial markets. Prior to his role at Shed Enterprises, he was the Head of Global Liquidity Sales for Australia and New Zealand at J.P. Morgan Asset Management with additional board duties as the Director and the Responsible Manager for J.P. Morgan Asset Management Australia Limited. Mr. Jackson also worked for six years at Westpac Institutional Bank as an Associate Director in Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities, among other roles.

The appointment of Matthew Jackson follows that of Ms. Vivian Sun, who joined Franklin Templeton in November 2018, also as a Senior Director of Institutional Business based in Melbourne.
